How students submit a Blackboard assignment

Be sure you are ready to complete the assignment before beginning. If you are uploading a file, be sure you have triple checked your work and that it is how you want it. Depending on the settings your instructor chose, you may only have one attempt to submit your work.

  1. Open Blackboard and navigate to the course with the assignment.

  2. Navigate to the location of the assignment. Your professor can put an assignment anywhere within a Blackboard course. For this example, we are submitting an assignment located in the Assignments section of a course.

  4. In the Assignment Information section, any instructions and files your instructor would like you to view are displayed. If the assignment is graded and has a due date, that information will also be displayed here. Be sure to read this section carefully.

  5. Depending on your instructor's instructions, you will either click Write Submission or Browse My Computer

    1. Write Submission allows you to type out the assignment in a text box. You can copy/paste your assignment from a word document if you wish.

Be sure the file you're attaching is not currently open. For example, if you are submitting a Word document, be sure to close Microsoft Word before trying to submit your assignment. If the file is open you may get an error when you try to submit it.
